“Exploring Layers” drew a record number of artists and a record number of entries.  Just under half were accepted by our juror Renee Couture, who said it was a “DIFFICULT” job.  She approached it half from a juror’s perspective, and half from a curator’s perspective, and she used the criteria we noted in the Prospectus.

We want to congratulate everyone who entered, because this makes SAQA Oregon strong.  All the work is worthy and we know that pieces not accepted for this exhibit will be seen somewhere else at some other time.

We’ll post the venue schedule here in due time.  Note that the exhibit will debut in February at the Chehalem Cultural Center, and will be a centerpiece of the SAQA Oregon conference “New Horizons” on March 6, 2014.
