Gerrie Congdon Exhibits in Artists Among Us


Trinity Episcopal Cathedral is showcasing the talent of 85 professional, amateur and aspiring artists from Trinity and the greater community in the exhibit Artists Among Us. The exhibit runs May 7th through the 9th with the Gala Celebration for Artists on Friday, May 7th 6-9pm, 147 NW 19th Avenue (at Everett) in Portland. Advance tickets are $15 now on sale; $20 at the door. Music by Dr. Tamara Still. Gerrie Congdon is the featured artist; her textile works have been juried into many local and national art shows as well as being included in international blogs, articles and books. SAQA Oregon Members to Exhibit in Australia

Gerrie Congdon and Terry Grant will both have work shown at the Australasian Quilt Convention and Textile Art Festival in Brisbane, Australia, June 25-27, 2010 as part of a special showing of the Twelve by Twelve Collaborative Art Quilt Project.

The project was a two-year, international project involving twelve quilt artists from around the world. Each artist completed a total of twelve quilts, measuring 12" x 12" interpreting twelve different themes. A book about the project will be published by Lark Publishing in Spring of 2011.

Morin Receives Honorary Mention from Museum of the Americas


Hilde Morin's MALECĂ“N received an Honorary Mention from the Museum of the Americas during the Women in the Arts 2010 exhibit. The Museum of the Americas is located in the city of Doral, Florida.  Every March the museum celebrates Women International Month by featuring works of women artists from all over the world. Hilde Morin Exhibits in Fiber Art Now


With her art bowls and wall pieces, Hilde Morin is one of the 14 fiber artists participating in Fiber Art Now.

The exhibit runs April 2 thru May 2 at the Columbia Center for the Arts, 215 Cascade Avenue in Hood River, Oregon.

SAQA Oregon Member to Show in Color Improvisations

Bonnie Bucknam has work juried into Color Improvisations, an invitational exhibition curated by Nancy Crow. The exhibition of 26 artists will open at the Haus Der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart, Germany, July 11 through August 25, 2010. Additional venues will include Galerie Lac in St. Marie aux Mines, France, September 16 - 19, 2010, and the Kunst und Gewerbe (Museum of Art and Commerce), Regierungsprasidium Karlsruhe, Germany, May 8 - June 12, 2011. Fiber Art Now Exhibit at Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River

Trisha Hassler's 2D Mixed Media artwork will be included in a group show with 14 fiber artists who push the boundaries of the medium. Showcased at the beautiful Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River, Oregon the show includes wall pieces, jewelry, basketry and sculpture. The exhibit runs from April 2 to May 2, 2010.
