Buckley Center Gallery
September 27 - October 21, 2010
Since childhood, Trisha Hassler has stitched, cut and reassembled everything that would hold still: baby quilts, pillows, costumes, clothing and even a sofa. After many traditional quilts, she became fascinated with construction techniques, improvisational quilting and incorporating alternative materials into her fiber pieces. The evolution of Trisha's fiber work continued through experimentation and studying metal working with a sculptor friend.
Over the years there have been special pieces she has not been able to part with. This exhibit includes these pieces as well as her new work.
Many of the materials she now incorporates are recycled or reclaimed, adding texture and history to her work. Since 2000 Trisha's work has been exhibited in juried shows, galleries and museums around the world.
Come see this private collection of Trisha's personal pieces first hand.
